My name is Laura and I am from Barcelona, Spain. I moved to Miami, Florida in 2010 and surprisingly a lot of things have changed since I first saw the elegant palm trees from Miami Beach.
As a native from Barcelona, moving to America was a big change in my life that opened my mind and strengthened my heart. Furthermore, I acquired a worldwide perspective on journalism, people, cultures and countries thanks to Miami Dade College and University of Florida. I always keep in mind where I come from and try to learn from every single relationship and experience I encounter in my life.
In addition to freelancing at Americateve TV station and as a radio host for Miami Despierta 1550 AM, in Miami, FL in 2014, I also interned at the Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald were I designed an opinion column titled Atrévete y Opina. Very grateful for that and all the gin credible mentors I had along the way.
Some time later, I traveled to the jungle of Peten in Guatemala with a non-profit organization Global Humanitarian, and lived there for three fantastic months wher I gathered my research to that write my first novel —that will be published this upcoming August—. I am currently living in New York City working at Time Inc, People en español magazine. I write in this blog to share my own ideas because sharing is growing, and growing is learming —and that is what I am all about—.
Health and happiness,
